Serie A

Serie A is Italy’s top professional football league and the highest level of the Italian football league system. Officially known as Serie A Enilive in Italy and Serie A Made in Italy internationally, the league has been operating as a round-robin tournament since the 1929–30 season. The champions receive the Coppa Campioni d’Italia trophy and the Scudetto, which they wear on their jerseys the following season.

Serie A is known for its tactical depth and defensive organization and was ranked the best league by UEFA’s coefficient for the 2023–24 season. Historically, it has featured some of the world’s greatest clubs, including Juventus, AC Milan, and Inter Milan, all founding members of the G-14 and later the European Club Association (ECA).

Serie A has been home to more Ballon d’Or winners than any league except La Liga and has produced 42 of the 100 greatest footballers in history, according to FourFourTwo. With its rich history, elite clubs, and tactical mastery, Serie A remains one of the world’s most prestigious and competitive football leagues.
