Premier League

Premeir League

The Premier League is the top tier of English football, featuring 20 clubs in a system of promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL). Running from August to May, each team plays 38 matches (home and away). Founded in 1992 as the FA Premier League, it replaced the First Division but still maintains promotion and relegation with the EFL Championship.

As of the 2024/25 season, the Premier League ranks first in UEFA coefficients, ahead of La Liga, and English clubs have won 15 UEFA Champions League titles. Seven teams have won the league, with Manchester United (13) leading the tally. Six clubs—Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur—have played in every season. The league boasts near-capacity stadiums and the highest aggregate attendance of any football league worldwide.
